Michael-Balm

Michael Balm, MD | Neurologist

Dr. Michael Balm is a board-certified neurologist who sees patients with a broad spectrum of neurological disorders. He has a special interest in botulinum toxin (Botox) therapy and in diagnosing and treating disorders of the peripheral nerves and muscles; these special interests are supported by his additional board certification in clinical neurophysiology and subspecialty training in the use of electrodiagnostic testing.

Highly regarded by patients for his excellent communication skills and compassionate care, Dr. Balm takes the time to ensure patients understand their disorders and their treatment options. “I want my patients to feel welcomed and supported,” he says. “And, it’s important that patients know why we make the recommendations that we do, how we can help and what to expect.”

When he’s not seeing patients, he spends time outdoors, hiking, kayaking and traveling both in the United States and abroad. Some of his favorite trips have been to New Zealand, Antarctica, Africa and the Galapagos Islands. He also enjoys storm watching on the Oregon Coast, local college athletics, and the occasional concert around town. If you see him out and about, he invites you to “Please, say “Hello!'”
